This is the thirty three-lettered hymn.

Greatness of these Hymns

Oh! Maitrēya! It is known from the scholars versatile in scriptures that the above seven holy hymns comprise of a total of 196 letters.

Know that these seven hymns of knowledge concerning five-faced Hanumān, give benefit directly to those with hearts polluted by the Kali time-cycle.

Being the Queen of all types of knowledge, these seven holy hymns of knowledge concerning the five-faced Hanumān occupies an exalted place; in fact, among the seventy million hymns of knowledge, fruitful results accrue in this life as well as in the after-life only by this knowledge.

Learning this knowledge (Mantra)

Knowledge similar to this one is difficult to get in the three Worlds (above, on and below Earth). There is no stipulation for any auspicious date or auspicious star constellation (time wise) for learning this knowledge.

Nor or there any wrong weeks for learning this knowledge. Oh! Maitrēya! There is no need for learning Vedas or Āgamas (works relating to worship) or Śāstrās (science scriptures) for knowing this knowledge.

One cannot learn this knowledge, except from a Guru (precept). Only when obtained with the kind benevolence of the Guru, this Knowledge can give total sovereignty.

Know that, like when this knowledge concerning Hanumān is obtained via the kind benevolence of the Guru, then it is yōgadīyi (unites soul and body) and sampaddāyi (giver of riches).

What is being told is the truth, declared as the truth, the truth and only the truth, by rising of hand solemnly. Because, Maitrēya! The one, who has the kind benevolence of the Guru life-long,

He is auspicious. He is the successful doer and well bestowed with riches in the world, even if he is an utter pauper, diseased, blind or short.

Guru is the ultimate God, and destroyer of enemies. The best meditation. There is nothing in this world above the Guru.

The soul or seer for this hymn is the eternal Śiva, the metere is Amŗita Virātt (prosody type) and the five-faced mighty-formed Hanumān is the presiding deity.

It was told that the seed letters ‘hrām’, ‘hrīm’ and ‘hrūm’ are the key components. Then, after performing stipulated movements of the six organs of the body, one has to meditate.

I am always contemplating on the five-faced, the one with no deformities, the one possessing valour of different types, the one wearing the conch, the disc etc, foremost among the primates (monkeys), the one wearing a saffron cloth, the one with a body shining due to wearing of a crown and other things.

Foremost among the primates (monkeys)! The one with great will-power! Remover of all types of miseries! Destroy the enemies. Give me protection. The one without any deprivation! Give all types of riches.

Meditating as above, recitation has to be done every day methodically. Such a person will have all his wishes fulfilled. There is no doubt in this.

Oh! The best among the Brāhmin people! Maitrēya! Listen carefully as I am going to tell you five-faced Hanumān related another secret mystic hymn which is good for all.

Saying ‘Ōmm’ first, the seed letter ‘hraum’, then the seed letter ‘kşhraum’, and then the seed letter ‘kşhmyraum’,

After that the seed letter ‘glaum’, then the seed letter ‘hsaum’, followed by ‘mahābalāya’ and ‘namah’,

Afterwards the word ‘pañcavadanāya’, after that saying the word ‘hanūmatē’, then saying ‘khēkhē humphaţ’, address the consort of Lord of Fire Agni, i.e., ‘swaha’ to be used. That is – “Ōmm hraum kşhraum kşhmyraum glaum hsaum mahābalāya namah pañcavadanāya hanūmatē khēkhē humphaţ swaha.”

This is the most significant thirty-lettered hymn. One may meditate separately, but the rest has to be recited just as the above hymn.

I reverently bow to the Lord Hanumān, the destroyer of all types of haughtiness in enemy; resplendent with the five faces – of the Gods Monkey, Man-Lion, Great Kite, the First Boar and the Knowledgeful-Horsse (Hayagrīva); adorned with various ornaments; having three fives of eyes (3 in each head); and a radian body holding in hands the sword, the defending disc, the book, the pot of immortality nectar, the elephant goad, the mountain, the plough, the cot-support club, the serpent, and the trees.
