Śree Parāśara:
“Oh! Mytrēya! Listen, I am telling another special one known as SantānaHanumanmantra (Child-gracing Hanumanmantra). By just thinking about that mantra, one will be bestowed with children. (1)
This mantra is the most powerful of the powerful and the most auspicious of the auspicious. Many are the one that practiced this and obtained children. (2)
Oh! Knower of all mantras! I am telling about the SantānaHanumanmantra. (3)

First utter the cosmic resonance ‘Ōm’, followed by the seed letter ‘Śreem’, then the seed letters ‘HreemKleem’, then ‘santāna Hanuman’, then ‘mama tanayam’, then ‘dēhidēhi’ and then concluding with ‘swāhā’. This is the 20-lettered mantra.
‘ŌmŚreemHreemKleemsantāna Hanuman! Dēhidēhi mama! swāhā’ (Oh! Children enabling Hanumān, give me give me children). (4-5)
This bestows all the auspicious nesses. This is the best of all the mantras. (6)

For this SantānaHanumanmantra – Brahma is the ŗşi, Gāyatree is the meter, Santāna Hanuman is the God, Ōmis the seed, swāhā is the power, Śreem is the key and the utility of the recitation (jape viniyōgah) is for the seeking blessings of Hanumān with children (Śree Santāna Hanumatprasādasiddhyardhē). The body touching and hand gesticulation (nyāsa) ritual has to be performed with the root mantra itself. (7)

Oh! Son of Ańjana! Leader of the Gods! Darling son of Kēśari! Oh Lord! Grace me with a son that has all the riches, right away. (8)

The one with pure snow like body luminance that is equal to 10 million disks of Sun, the one whose cheeks are resplendent with the diamonds studded in the crown and ear hangings, the one that has the disease remover Sanjeevi mountain in his left hand, the one with, in his right hand, the weapons that are capable of breaking binds and the one with brilliance equal to a thousand thunders – such Hanumān, that I am taking refuge under. (9)

Oh! Best amongst Brahmins! I am telling about its repetition procedure. The mantra has to be repeated 500,000 times. About one tenth of the mantra liquid – be it coconut water or cow milk (especially) or jaggery (gur) – has to be used for tarpana (propitiation). (10)
One has to perform fire sacrifice with one tenth of that used in tarpana. (11)

Oh! Mytrēya! One has to perform fire sacrifice with paramānna (sweet milk-rice pudding) cooked with dates, sugarcane pieces, honey, milk, sugar, putrajeevak (Putranjivaroxburghii, infertility medicine in traditional Indian medicine, Ayurvēda) seeds, ghee and sugar. (12)
Afterwards, Brahmins well-versed with Vēdas equal in number to the tune of one tenth of the number of fire sacrifice have to be feasted. (13)
Then recitation has to be carried out with a prayer string (japamāla) made of putrajivak seeds. Whoever performs so with chittavrittinirodha (inner journey through the spiritual practice of yōga; i.e., mental fortitude) will definitely come to possess many children. (14)

The Mystic Weapon
Oh! Mytrēya! I am telling about another specialty. I am telling about the mystic weapon needed that is useful to the world. Listen. By just knowing this, everything is achieved by the people. (15)
One has to know how to use it before applying this weapon for driving off spirits, disembodied souls and wandering spirits. (16)
To no one without devotion, one performing cruel acts, one devoid of devotion to guru, one committing sins, one without traditional behaviour code and a sinner should never be told about this. (17)
Oh! Great Yōgi! I am telling about the deliverance, repetition procedure and method of use of the weapon. Listen totally. (18)
First say the cosmic resonance ‘Ōm’, then the wordankuśa (elephant goad; represents power of perseverance on the spiritual path) seed letter ‘ēm’, then the power seed letter ‘gloum’, the fifth seed pair (pańcamabeejayugma), the Wind seed (vāyubeeja) twice each. (19)
Keeping the name of the desired God in the center, the words ‘yam yam’ has to be written. Then to be given are the beeja (seed) names ‘gloumgloum’, the power seed ‘lam’the varāhabeeja‘gloum’ have to be told. (20)
Then the māyābeeja‘ēm’, then the anupāśa (non-existant) beeja‘ām’ have to be said along with the cosmic sound (ōm) and the mantra has to be brought up (mantrōddhāra). Told as the 16-Letterd (şōdśākşree), this one is a terror to the enemies and quickly fructifying weapon. (21)
It was told that the ŗşifor this weapon (astra) is Brahma the Creatorand the the meter is Gāytree. Āńjanēya (son of Ańjana = Hanumān) is the God. (22)

The seed (beeja) for this weapon is ‘yam’, the power is ‘gloum’ and ‘hum’ is the key needs no resort to violent acts (ugrakarma). Oh! Sage Mytrēya! In the present era of Kali (present times lacking righteousness) man can attain everything via meditation. (23)

Dhyānam
I am meditating upon Hanumān, the most ferocious, the one with the hair bundle growing upwards, the one fearful to the enemies, the one has the lower jae with canine teeth, the one that has the luminance of the rising sun, the one with Sun and Moon as the two eyes, one as radiant as 10 million Suns, one that wears a girdle made of munjagrass and a loin cloth, the one holding a great mountain in the hand, the great one, the one that is the form of weapon and the best of the monkeys. (24)

Any sinful one that uses the weapon without repetitive rituals will definitely become a mad person. Hence one has to perform all repetitive rituals with particular efforts. (25)
I am telling about the repetitive procedure during eclipse periods, for those that are incapable to perform the repetitive rituals. Oh! Best amongst the seers! It is worthy of knowing. (26)
One has to, after fasting the day before a solar or lunar eclipse, while standing navel deep in a seaward flowing river, (27)
Has to recite the mantra from onset to the end of the eclipse, has to perform tarpaņa one tenth of it and then perform fire sacrifice with ghee for one tenth times of it. (28)
Oh! Mytrēya! Then a feast has to be carried out for 100 or at least 50 Brahmins well-versed with Vēdas. One has to make one’s Guru happy. One should not be miserly with money. In such a way the fruits of the mantra are achieved. (29)
One has to use the weapon after so obtaining achievement of the mantra. Brahmins well-versed with Vēdas are to be fed. (30)
Otherwise, the repetitive ritual can be carried out in another way – the mantra can be recited fervently from the time of end of the eclipse. (31)
Then, with one tenth of it has to be performed as Fire Sacrifice. Then the mantra fructifies and the Lord bestows grace. (32)
Also, otherwise, one’s guru has to be worshipped with devotion. In this method, even without repetitive ritual, the mantra will definitely fructify. (33)
Attainment of the achievement of the mantra so obtained, will definitely can bestow the desired wishes. A person without devotion to guru, should not be initiated to this secret mantra. (34)

Procedure of Usage
One has to use the exclamations ‘vaşaţ’ for seeking control of others, ‘phat’ in bringing up, ‘hum’ in hating, ‘khē’ in killing, ‘ţha’ in freezing and ‘vouşaţ’ in attracting. These are known as mantrapallavas (loud exclamations of mantras). (51)

First the cardinal directions have to be frozen, then the nivēśakarma (house entry act) and then, according to application skills, piśācōţţana (driving away of spirits) has to be performed. (52)

This method, once told by Śiva, is being practiced by all the mantra exponents. (53)

‘Vam’ in peace and ‘lam’ in bewitchment. These are known as the seed letters. (55)

Ananya – Gayatree Mantra
Oh! Sage Mytrēya! I am telling about another special thing. It has to be recited as a unique (ananya) mantra 100 times a day. (56)
First the Gāyatree mantra has to be recited 1000 times. Oh! Mytrēya! Then the other mantras have to be recited 1000 times each. (57)
The mother of Vēdas, Gāyatree mantra has to be recited – 10,000 times. If the Gāyatree mantra, which is recited ten times more than the other mantras, then the Anaya mantra is achieved, the desires are fulfilled. (58)
If the Gāyatree nabtrais not recited by the earlier told numbers (as told earlier), the ananya mantra does not get achieved right away, however long one may recite. (59)
Oh! Sage Mytrēya! Hence, always, with efforts, the Gāyatree mantra has to be recited daily 1000 or 100 or 28 times. It should not be less than that. (60)
There is no manta better than the Gyratee mantra like, there is no God better than the mother, no better relative than the discretion (between good and bad); so tell Vēda scholars. (61)
The reciter gets fulfilment of the mantra via reciting the Gāyatree mantra several times. (62)
The Vēdamatā Gāyatree has to be recited three times daily 1000 times in the morning, 100 times in the afternoon and 10 times in the evening. (63)
If Gāyatree is recited less, it will eat up the mantras being recited by the reciter. (64)
Oh! Best of the Seers! I am telling about another mantra. Listen. This 23-Lettered (trayōvinsatyakşarā) mantra is the best of all the mantras. (65)
For this King of mantras onHanumān, Agastya is the sage, Gāyatree is the meter, ŚreeHanumān is the God, ‘Ōm’ is the seed, ‘swāhā’ is the power, ‘namah’ is the key and the utility of the recitation is for achievement of all the desired wishes. (66)

I bow to Hanumān, one similar in brilliance to the rising sun, the one that dents the pride of demons, the one with lotus feet that are worshipped by Dēvēndra and other divine personalities, the one that removed the sorrow of mother Seetā completely, the one with a girdle made of munja grass – strange diamond studded ear hangings – shining loin cloth and deer skin, the one mightily powerful as the diamond weapon (of Indra), the best one amongst the monkeys, and the one always ready to serve Lord ŚreeRāma. I am telling about the repetitive ritual. To be formed with order are 300,000 recitations. Of it one tenth have to be carried out with tarpaņa ritual. (71)
