77th Chapter (Saptasaptatih Paţalah)

“The Story of the Birth of Hanumān

(HanumajjayantiKathanam)

श्रीमैत्रेयः
कथंजयत्यां हनुम्नान् पूजनीयः पराशर
विधिः को वा फलं किं वा कालः को वा विशेषतः
तत्स्सर्वं ब्रूहि भगवन् लोकानां हितकाम्यया || 1

Śrī Mytrēya:

“Oh! Sage Paraāśara! How one has to worship Hanumānon Hanumajjayanti (birthday of Hanumān)? By which methodology the worship has to be performed? Especially, what is the correct time of action? What are the attainments (phalitam) of the birthday worship? Oh! Great soul! Let me know all the details in the interest of the welfare of the world.” (1)

श्रीपराशरः
साधु साधु महाप्राज्ञ सम्य क्प्रश्नः कृत स्त्वया
य दुद्दृता न्य्नेकानि भुवनानि महामुने || 2

Śree Paraāśara:

“Well! Well! Oh! Wise one! You asked a fine question. Oh! Great sage! Many worlds benefit from your this question. (2)

वैशाखे मासि कृष्णायां दश्म्यां मंदवासरे
पूण्याभाद्राख्य नक्षत्रे मुहूर्ते कर्कटभिदे
मध्याह्ने वैधृतियोगे कुर्या र्पूजा हनूमतः || 3

Hanumān has to be worshipped on the 10th Day (daśami) of the dark fortnight (krişņapakşa) of the month of Vaiśākha (second lunar month), during the constellation of Poorvābhādra (Star α and βPegasi) and in the Zodiac sign Cancer (Karkāţakalagna), at noon time, while the Vaidhŗteeyōga (The Yoga star of the 27th lunar mansion;1/27 Synodic month) exists. (3)

गंध पुष्पाक्षतै र्दिव्यैः नैवेद्यै र्वभवान्वितैः
नृत्य वाद्यादिभि स्सम्य गर्चनीय तदा हरिः || 4

Hanumān has to be worshipped gloriously with sandal wood paste, flowers, sacred rice grains (akştāni); with food offering (naivēdyam), with dance and all other types of worship rituals. (4)

गोमये नोपलिपाद्य भूमिं निश्चलमनसः
रंगवल्लीन ततः कुर्या त्तंडुलां स्तत्र निक्षिपेत || 5

On that day, with a calm mind, the whole worship area has to be coated with cow dung and then drawing artful rangōli (artistic patterns on the ground). Then cleaned rice grains are to be poured there. (5)

पंचाढक प्रमाणं वा प्रथ पंचक मेव वा
तदर्थं वा तदर्थं वा वित्तशाट्यं न कारयेत् || 6

Then to spread there 5 adhaka (about 26.3 kg) or five prastha (2 kg) of rice or half of that or still half in that without showing any miserliness. (6)

ड़ुलोपरि संस्थाप्य सौवर्णं कलशं सुधीः
राजितं वापि ताम्रं वा मृणयं चापि शक्तितः || 7

Then a knowledgeable person keeps a pot (kalaś) of gold or of silver or of copper or of earth, to once own capacity, on that. (7)

नवीनं कलशं कुर्यात् निर्मलोदक पूरितं
फलानि च सुपुष्पाणि सुवर्णं तत्र निक्षिपेत् || 8

A new pot has to be kept which is filled with clean water. Fruits, good flowers and gold has to be kept in that pot. (8)

नवांबरं सुस्ंशो ध्याच्चादये त्कलशोपरि || 9

The pot has to be covered with a new washed cloth. (9)

प्रतिमा कलश वस्त्रं होमं ब्राह्मणभोजन्ं
गुरुपूजनं च कर्तव्यं सर्वत्र हनुमद्व्रते || 10

The rituals to be followed are establishment of the Hanumān idol, the pot and the cloth, fire sacrifice, feast to Brahmins and worship of the guru. (10)

यथाशक्ति हिरण्येन ताम्रेण रजतेन वा
हनुमद्वग्रहं धीमान करयित्वा प्रयत्नतः || 11

A wise person by special efforts, establishes the Hanumān idol of gold or silver or copper as per one’s capacity, (11)

पंचामृताभिशेकेन स्नापयित्वा कपीश्वरं
पीतांबरयुगं वापि हरिद्राक्तपटे तु वा || 12

After performing bath of Hanumān with the five nectars (pńcāmŗt), with silk garments or clothes yellowed with turmeric, (12)

धारयित्वा महार्हे तु रत्नसिम्हासने शुभे
प्रच्चाद्यनूतनं वस्त्रं स्थापये न्ंअरुतात्मजम || 13

Adorning Him, the idol has to be seated on an auspicious diamond studded throne covered with a new cloth. (13)

प्राणप्रतिष्टाकुर्वीत मूलमंत्र विधानतः
षोडशा नुपचारान्वै ततः कुउर्या द्यथाविधिः || 14

Afterwards, life impartation (prāņapratişţha) has to be carried reciting the root mantra. Then the 16 worship rituals (şōdśōpacāra) have to be performed. (14)

The 16 şōdśōpacāras are – 1. Ahvahana: Invocation of the deity, 2. Asana: Offering a seat to the deity, 3. Padya: Offering water to wash the feet, 4. Arghya: Offering water to wash hands, 5. Achamaniya: Offering water to drink, 6. Snana or abhisekha: Bathing, 7. Vastra: Clothing or offering a garment, 8. Yagnopavit or Mangalsutra: Putting on the sacred thread, 9. Anulepana or gandha: Sprinkling with perfume, 10. Pushpa: Offering flowers, 11. Dhupa: Burning incense, 12. Dipa or Aarti: Waving of an oil lamp in front of the deity, 13. Naivedya: Offering food, 14. Namaskara or pranama: Reverential prostration or salutation, 15. Parikrama or PradakshinaCircumambulation, 16. Visarjana: Taking leave.

सुवर्णकल्शै र्युक्तं पूगीफल समन्वितं
अर्घ्यं दत्वा पंचवारं पुश्पाक्षत समन्वितम || 15

After giving ārghya five times out of golden pots, with Arica nuts, flowers and sacred rice (akşatāni), (15)

सदक्षिणां च तांबूलं सवस्त्रं प्रतिमान्वितं
गुरुं सम्पूज्य यत्नेन वस्त्रालंकरणादिभिः
ब्घ्मणाय सिशीलाय दानं दद्या त्कुटुंबिने || 16

Beatle leaf along with gift donation, worship the cloth adorned to the Hanumān idol and the Guru with clothes and ornaments, good righteous family Brahmins have to be given gift donations. (16)

जयंती दिवसे पूजां कृत्वा श्रीहनुमत्प्रभोः
उपवासा यतेः प्रोक्ताः गृहिणां भोजनं मतम् || 17

After worshipping Hanumān on Hanumajjayanti Day, yatis (monks, seers) have to fast while family persons can take a meal. (17)

पूर्व प्रोष्ठप्रदा युक्ता जयंति दशमीतिथिः
अत्र नक्षत्र वैरूप्ये तिथि रेव प्रयोजका || 18

Hanumān Jayanti is when the 10th Day (daśami) during the constellation of Poorvābhādra (Star α and βPegasi). If the Day and Star fall on different days, the Day has to be mainly considered in deciding the Day. (18)

वैशाखमासि यत्नेन कुर्या र्कार्य मनुत्तमं
असकृ द्वा सकृद्वा ते परा गति मवाप्युयात् || 19

In the month of Vaiśākha (second lunar month) the good Hanumān deed (Hanumatkārya) has to be performed especially. Those doing so always or sometimes get good future. (19)

वैशाखे मासि माहात्म्यं कल्पकोटिशतै रपि
न शक्यं वर्णितुं ब्रह्मन् ब्रह्मणोपि समंततः || 20

Oh! Good Brahmin! It is not possible event to Brahma, the Creator to describe the greatness of the Vaiśākha month. (20)

यत स्सुवर्चलानाथो अंजनागर्भ संभवः
हनुमान् मारुति ह्रीमान् अवतीर्णो रिरक्षया || 21

When Hanumān, the spouse of Suvarcchala, the son of Ańjana, the son of the Wind God and the bearer of prosperity that was born to protect the worlds, (21)

तदा प्रभृति मानस्य वैशाख़स्य महात्मनः
स्नान दानादि योग्यत्वं हनूमज्जन्मकारणात् || 22

Ever since, the great month of Vaiśākha attained the merit for performance of river baths and gift donations. (22)

इति निश्चित्य मतिमान् स्नाया द्बाह्यजलांतरे
संवत्सरे त्प्त्रू न्तत्र दद्या द्विप्राय गोधनम् || 23

So deciding, a wise person takes a bath in the water body (lake or river). Then he offers water pouring (tarpaņa), and then good Brahmins have to be gift-donated cows and money. (23)

दापये दुदकं बान्नं हनूमत्प्रितये तथा || 24

In the same way, for becoming dear to Hanumān, one has to gift-donate water and rice. (24)

ब्राह्मणः क्षितिइयो वापि वैश्यो वा शुद्र एव वा
स्त्री वा पुमान् वा श्ंडो वा यथाशक्ति निवेदयेत् || 25

Anyone can offer food (naivēdya), be he/she a Brahmin or a Kşatriya (of ruling class) or a Vaişya (of trading class) or a Sūdra (of working class), a male or a female or a person of neutral gender. (25)

ततस्तु हनुमान् प्रीतः दद्या न्निजपदांतिकं
तदा द्वादशवारं तुजुहुया द्गोघृतेन च || 26

Hanumān will then be happy and take you on to his lotus feet. One has to perform fire sacrifice twelve times. (26)

यथाशक्ति ब्राहंणांश्च भोजये दिष्टवस्तुभि
आंजनेय प्रसादेन सर्वा न्कामा नवाप्नुयेत् || 27

As per one’s capacity meals have to be offered to learned Brahmins, with nice items. Then, by the grace of Lord Hanumān, all the desired wishes will be fulfilled. (27)

रत्नसिंहासनं तत्र हैमं भास्करसन्निभं
निरस्तांता स्त्म स्तोमः कल्पये न्मुनिपुंगव || 28

Oh! Mytrēya! A diamond studded golden throne has got to be made of gold, which, bright as the Sun, can dispel the darkness in the mind. (28)

आवाहये द्दनूमन्तं रत्नसिंहासने सुधीः
अथ ध्याये त्पपिश्रेष्टं चतुरावरणान्वितम् || 29

A wise person has to perform the invitation (āvāhana) of Lord on to that throne. Then meditation of Hanumān, the best amongst the monkey warriors that exists in the expanse of the four seas. (29)

वामभागे स्थ्तांं पत्नीं सूर्यपुत्रीं सुवर्चलां
पश्यन्तं स्निग्धया दृष्ट्या स्मितयुक्त मखांबुजाम् || 30

One has to then meditate upon Hanumān, looked upon from left side with gentle smiles by Suvarcchala the daughter of the Sun. (30)

छत्र चामर संयुक्तं नीलाद्यै श्च सुसेवितं
मुक्ताहार गणोपेतं रत्नकुंडल भुषितम् || 31

‘The one with an umbrella (chatra) and fan (chāmara), the one served by Neela and other monkey warriors, the one wearing pearl necklaces and the one with bedecked with diamond ear rings (31)

ग्रैवेय भूषित ग्रीवं कनकांबर धारिणं
नानामणि समुत्कीर्ण क़ीरीटोज्ज्वल शेखरम् || 32

The one with the neck adorned with many necklaces, the one wearing a golden hued apparel, the one with the head shining because of wearing a diamond-studded crown (32)

मेखलादामु संवीतं मणिनूपुर शोभितं
रत्नकंकण विद्योत पाणौ रक्तांबुज द्वयम् || 33

The one wearing a loin cord (girdle; mēkhalā), the one wearing diamond studded anklets, the one whose hands shine due to wearing of diamond studded bracelets, the one holding red lotuses in both the hands (33)

क्वथित स्वर्णवर्णांग मुष्ट्रध्वज समन्वितं
चतुर्भुजदरं शांतं सर्वव्यापिन मीश्वरम् || 34
श्रीसुवर्चलाहनुमते नमः ध्यायमि ध्यानं समर्पयामि

The one possessing body parts of the colour of burnished gold, the one with camel flag, the one with four arms, the very calm one by nature, the one that is found expanded everywhere and the best of all personality; Hanumān has to be so meditated upon.

ŚreeSuvarcchalāhanumatēnamhdhyāyāmi – dhyānamsamrpayāmi (I bow and meditate upon Suvarcchalāhanumān and submit the same). (34)

सर्वदेव परीवारं सर्वाभीष्ट फलप्रदं
आवाहयमि सर्वेशं सूर्यपुतीप्रियं प्रभुम || 35
श्रीसुवर्चलाहनुमते नमः आवाहयामि आवाहनं समर्पयामि

Āvāhana – Invitation

I invite God Hanumān (āvāhayāmi) – the one that has all the Gods as a family, the one that fulfills all the desired wishes, the son of Mother Ańjana, the one beyond all illusions, the husband of Suvarcchala that is at the Guru pedestal of the universe and the all capable one.

ŞreeSuvarcchalāhanumātēnamahāvāyāmi – āvāhanamsamarpayāmi (I bow to the husband of Suvarcchala and submit my invitation). (35)

देवदेव जगन्नाथ केसरी प्रियनंदन
रत्न सिंहासनं तुभ्यं दासामि हनुमत्प्रभो || 36
श्रीसुवर्चलाहनुमते नमः रत्नखचित सिम्हासनं समर्पयामि

Oh! God of Gods! Lord of the universe! Dear son of Kēsari, Lord Hanumān! I am providing you a golden throne.

ŞreeSuvarcchalāhanumatēnamahratnakhacitasimhāsanamsamarpayāmi (Oh! Husband of Suvarcchala! I am providing as diamond studded throne). (36)

योगिद्ये यांघ्रिपद्माय जगतां पतये नम
पाद्यं मयार्पितं देव गृहाण पुरुषोत्त्तम || 37
श्रीसुवर्चलाहनुमते नमः पादयोः पाद्यं समर्पयामि

I bow to the Lord of the Universe Hanumān with lotus feet that are worthy of meditation by seers.

ŚreeSuvarcchalāhanumatēnamahpādayōhpādyamsamarpayāmi (Oh! Husband of Suvarcchala! I am providing pure water for washing your lotus feet). (37)

लक्ष्मणप्राण संरक्ष सीताशोक विनाशक
गृहाणर्घ्यं मया दत्तं पार्वती प्रियनंदन || 38
श्रीसुवर्चलाहनुमते नमः हस्तयो अर्घ्यं समर्पयामि

Oh! The one that protected the life of Lakşmaņa! The one that removed the sorrow of Mother Seetā! Son of Mother Pārvatee! Accept the ārghyam being provided by me.

ŚreeSuvarcchalāhanumatēnamah – hastayōhārghyamsamarpayāmi (Oh! Husband of Suvarcchala! I am providing pure water for washing of hands). (38)

वालाग्र सेतुबंधाय दशानन वधाय च
तुभ्य माचमनं दत्तं प्रतिगृह्णीष्व मारुते || 39
श्रीसुवर्चलाहनुमते नमः आचमनीयं समर्पयामि

Oh! Son of the Wind God! The one that held the bridge (Rāmasētu) with the tip of the tail, instrumental in killing of the ten-headed Rāvaņa, accept the pure water that I am offering for sipping.

ŚreeSuvarcchalāhanumatēnamah – ācamaneeyamsamarpayāmi (Oh! Husband of Suvarcchala! I am offering pure water for sipping/drinking). (39)

अर्जुनध्वज संवास दशानन मदापह
मधुपर्कं प्र्दास्यामि हनुमन्प्रतिगृह्यताम् || 40
श्रीसुवर्चलाहनुमते नमः मधुपर्कं समर्पयामि

Hanumān! The one resident on the flag of Arjuna! The one that dented the pride of Rāvaņa! Accept the sweet drink offered by me.

ŚreeSuvarcchalāhanumatēnamah – madhuparkamsamarpayāmi (Oh! Husband of Suvarcchala! I am offering sweet dring of curds, ghee, honey etc). (40)

गंगादि सर्वतीर्णेभ्य स्स्मानीतैर्नवोदकै
भवंतं स्नापयिष्यामि कपिनायक गृह्यताम् || 41
श्रीसुवर्चलाहनुमते नमः शुद्दोदक स्नानं समर्पयामि

I am offering bath with waters brought from River Gangā and all other holy river places. Oh! Leader of the monkey warriors! Please accept.

ŚreeSuvarcchalāhanumatēnamah– śuddhōdalasnānamsamarpayām (Oh! Husband of Suvarcchala! Accept the pure water that I am offering for bath). (41)

पीतांबर मिदं तुभ्यं तप्तहाटक सन्निभं
दास्यामि वानरश्रेष्ठ स्ंग्रुहाण नमोस्त्रुते || 42
श्रीसुवर्चलाहनुमते नमः वस्त्रयुग्मं समर्पयामि

I am offering clothesthat are as yellow as the burnished gold. Oh! Best of the monkey warriors! Accept them. I bow to Thee.

ŚreeSuvarcchalāhanumatēnamah – vastrayugmamsamarpayāmi(Oh! Husband of Suvarcchala! I am offering a pair of cloths). (42)

ब्रह्मसूत्र मिदं भव्यं मुक्तादा मोपशोभितं
स्वीकरुष्वांजनीयपुत्र भक्तरक्षण तत्पर || 43
श्रीसुवर्चलाहनुमते नमः यज्ञ्नोपवीतं समर्पयामि

Oh! Son of Mother Ańjana! I am offering the sacred thread (Brahmasootra) that shines like a string of pearls. Oh! The one adept at protecting the devotees! Please accept.

ŚreeSuvarcchalāhanumatēnamah – yagńyōpaveetamsamarpayāmi(Oh! Husband of Suvarcchala! I am offering the sacred thread). (43)

उत्तरीयं तु दास्यामि स्ंसारोत्तारकारण
गृहाण परमप्रीत्या नतोस्मि तव पादयोः || 44
श्रीसुवर्चलाहनुमते नमः उत्तरीयं समर्पयामि

Oh! Liberator from this mundane world! I am offering the upper cloth (uttareeyam) to you. I am bowing at your lotus feet. Please accept it with a lot of affection.

ŚreeSuvarcchalāhanumatēnamah – uttareeyamsamarpayāmi (Oh! Husband of Suvarcchala! I am offering the upper garment). (44)

भूषणानि महाराणि किरीट प्रमुखा न्यहं
तुभ्यं दास्यामि सर्वेश गृहाण कपिनायक || 45
श्रीसुवर्चलाहनुमते नमः आभरणानि समर्पयामि

Oh! Leader of the monkey warriors! I am offering great ornaments, especially the crown. Kindly accept them.

ŚreeSuvarcchalāhanumatēnamah – bhooşanāņikireeţāpramukhansamarpayāmi (Oh! Husband of Suvarcchala! I am offering a great crown and ornaments). (45)

कस्तूरी कुम्क़ुमोन्मिश्रं कर्पूरागुरु वसितं
श्रीचंदनं तु दास्यामि ग्रुह्यातां हनुमत्प्रभो || 46
श्रीसुवर्चलाहनुमते नमः दिव्यश्री चंदनं समर्पयामि

I am offering sandal paste mixed with kastoori (deer musk), kumkuma (saffron flowers) and also mixed with karpooraand agaru (aloe wood). Lord Hanumān! Kindly accept the same.

ŚreeSuvarcchalāhanumatēnamah – divyaśreecandanamsamarpayāmi (Oh! Husband of Suvarcchala! I am offering the fragrant sandal paste). (46)

सुगंधीनि सुरूपाणि वन्यानि विविधानि च
चंपकादीनि पुष्पाणि कमला न्युत्पलानि च || 47

I am offering fragrant and beautiful champaka (Mangoliachampaca) and other flowers grown in nice gardens, as well as lotuses, (47)

तुलसीदळ बिल्वाणी मनसा कल्पयामि ते
गृहाण हनुम्न्देव प्रण्तोस्मि पदाम्बुजे || 48
श्रीसुवर्चलाहनुमते नमः पुष्पाणि समर्पयामि

Basil and bel (bael) leaves, I am offering wholeheartedly. I bow to Thy lotus feet. Oh! Lord Hanumān! Accept the same.

ŚreeSuvarcchalāhanumatēnamah – puşpāņisamarpayāmi (Oh! Husband of Suvarcchala! I am offering flowers). (48)

शालीय नक्ष त्रा नम्यान् पद्मरआगसम प्रभान्
आंखाडान् खंडितड्वांत स्वीकुरुष्व दयानिधे || 49
श्रीसुवर्चलाहनुमते नमः अक्षतान् समर्पयामि

Oh! Dispeller of the darkness of lack of knowledge! I am offering the sacred rice (akşatāņi) that are as beautiful and bright as the sapphires and do not break, that are made from special śālipaddy. Oh! Treasure trove of kindness! Please accept.

ŚreeSuvarcchalāhanumatēnamah – akśtānsamarpayāmi (Oh! Husband of Suvarcchala! I am offering sacred rice). (49)

कपिलाघृत संयुक्तं कृष्णागुरु समुद्भवः
मया नमर्पितं धूपं हनुमान् प्रतिगृह्यताम || 50
श्रीसुवर्चलाहनुमते नमः धूप माघ्रापयामि

Oh! Lord Hanumān! I am offering fragrant incense made with the ghee (clarified butter oil) of the milk of Kapila (a sacred black) cow and dark aloe wood (agaru).

ŚreeSuvarcchalāhanumatēnamah – dhoopamāghāpayāmi (Oh! Husband of Suvarcchala! I am offering fragrant incense). (50)

निर्स्ताज्ञान तिमिर तेजोराशे जगत्पते
दीपं गृहाण देवेश गोघृताक्तं दशान्वितम् || 51
श्रीसुवर्चलाहनुमते नमः दीपं दर्शयामि

The one that dispels from the darkness of lack of knowledge! A bundle of brightness! Lord of the universe! Here is the lamp made of a wick wet in cow ghee! Oh! God of Gods! Accept.

ŚreeSuvarcchalāhanumatēnamah – deepamdarśayāmi (Oh! Husband of Suvarcchala! I am showing the lamp). (51)

इदं दिव्यान्नम्ममृतं सूप शाक फलान्वितं
साज्यंं सधधि सक्षीरं शर्करा मधु संयुनम् || 52

Here is the nectar-equaling auspicious rice made with pulse (red gram), vegetables, fruits, ghee, curd/yogurt, milk, sugar, honey and others. (52)

भक्ष्यं भोज्यं च लेह्यं च शोयं चापि च्तुर्विधं
गृहाण हनुमन्भक्त्या स्वर्णपात्रे निवेदितम् || 53
श्रीसुवर्चलाहनुमते नमः महानैवेद्यं समर्पायामि

I am offering special festival dishes that are to be bitten and eaten (bhakşya) and other edible things (bhojya =to be gulped, food that are to licked (lēhyam), foods that have to be sucked (cōşyam), such four types of edibles in a golden vessel with devotion. Qh! Hanunān! Acceept.

ŚreeSuvarcchalāhanumatēnamah – naivēdyamsamarpayāmi (Oh! Husband of Suvarcchala! I am offering great food items). (53)

समर्पयामि पानीयं मध्ये मध्ये सुधोपमं
सच्चिदानंद रूपाय सृष्टि स्थि त्यंत हेतवे || 54
श्रीसुवर्चलाहनुमते नमः मध्ये मध्ये पानीयं समर्पायामि

To you, the very form of Truth, Vitality and Bliss (saccidānandaroopa) and the cause for Creation, Maintenance and Neutralisation, I am offering, in between, drink that is equal to the nectar.

ŚreeSuvarcchalāhanumatēnamah – madhyēmadhyēpāneeyamsamarpayāmi (Oh! Husband of Suvarcchala! I am offering, in between, drink again and again). (54)

पूगीफल समायुक्तं कर्पूरादि समन्वितं
स्वर्नवर्ण दळोपेतं तांबूलं गृह्यतां हरे || 55
श्रीसुवर्चलाहनुमते नमः तांबूलं समर्पायामि

I am offering tāmboolam (a post eating treat) made of golden coloured young Beatle leaves, quality Beatle nuts (Arica), camphor and others. Oh! Son of Ańjana! Accept the same.

ŚreeSuvarcchalāhanumatēnamah– tāmboolamsamarpayāmi (Oh! Husband of Suvarcchala! I am offering mouth freshener treat). (55)

नीराजन मिदं दिव्यं मंगळार्थं कपिप्रभो
मया समर्पितं तात गृहाण वरदो भव || 56
श्रीसुवर्चलाहनुमते नमः कर्पूर नीराजमानं समर्पायामि

नृत्यं गीतं च वाद्यं च कृतं गंधर्वसत्तमैः
प्रकल्पयामि मनसा सुप्रीतो वरदो भव || 57
श्रीसुवर्चलाहनुमते नमः नृत्य गीत वाद्यानि समर्पायामि

I am offering the dance, song and play of musical instruments of the best of Gandharvs (artist, semi-gods) created in my mind. Get satisfied with them and grant me boons.

मंदार पारिजातदि पुष्पांजलि मिमं प्रभो
स्वर्णपुष्प समाकीर्ण मुष्ट्रड्ध्वज गृहाण वै || 58
श्रीसुवर्चलाहनुमते नमः सुवर्णदिव्यमंत्रपुष्पं समर्पायामि

Oh! My Lord! I am offering hand-folding (bow) with Hubiscus (mandāra), Indian Rose Chestnut (pārijāta) and other flowers and golden flowers (suvarņamantrapuşpam). Oh! One with the Camel Flag! Accept.

ŚreeSuvarcchalāhanumatēnamah – suvarņdivyaamantraşpuşpamsamarpayāmi (Oh! Husband of Suvarcchala! I am offering auspicious golden flowers). (58)

प्रदक्षिण नमस्कारान् साष्टांगान् पंचसंख्यया
दास्यामि कपिनाथाय गृहाणाभीष्णदायक || 59
श्रीसुवर्चलाहनुमते नमः प्रदक्षिण नमस्कारान् समर्पायामि

Oh! Leader of the Monkey Warriors! Fulfiller of desired wishes! I am offering circumambulatory and prostrate reverent bows, five each. Accept.

ŚreeSuvarcchalāhanumatēnamah – pradakşiņanamaşkārānsamarpayāmi (Oh! Husband of Suvarcchala! I am offering circumambulatory bows). (59)

देवदेव जगन्नथा पुराण पुरुशोत्तम
आनेन पूजाविधिना सुप्रीतो वरदो भव || 60

Oh! God of Gods! Lord of the Universe! Best amongst men since ancient times! Be satisfied with my worship and bestow boons upon me.’ (60)

अंते दद्या तत्प्रसन्नार्घ्यान् यथापूर्व विनिर्मितान् || 61

At the end of the worship, just as offered earlier, the pleasing pure water (prasannārghyān) has to be offered five times.

दशम्यां मंदयुक्तायां कृष्णायां मासि माधवे
पूर्वाभाद्राख्य नक्षत्रे वैधृतौ हनुमा नभूत् || 62
श्रीसुवर्चला समेत हनुमते नमः इद मर्घ्यं समर्पायामि

Hanumān was born in the Vaiśākha (2ns lunar) month, during the waxing moon fortnight (Kŗşņapakşa) on the 10th day (daśami), Saturday, when the Poorvābhādra (Star α and βPegasi) constellation and the Vaidhŗteeyōga (The Yoga star of the 27th lunar mansion; 1/27 Synodic month) exists. (62)

दुष्टाणां शिक्षणार्थाय शिश्टानां रक्षणाय च
श्रीरामस्वामि कार्यार्थं जा श्श्रीहनुमान् हरिः || 63
श्रीसुवर्चला समेत हनुमते नमः इद मर्घ्यं समर्पायामि

The best of the Monkey Warriors was born to punish the wicked ones and protect the good doers and for the service of Lord ŚreeRāmacandra.

ŚreeSuvarcchalāhanumatēnamah –idamarghyamsamarpayāmi (Oh! Husband of Suvarcchala! I am offering pure water). (63)

आंजनागर्भ संभूत हनुमान् पवनात्मज
गृहाणार्घ्यं मया दत्तं कपिवर्य नमोस्तुते || 64
श्रीसुवर्चला समेत हनुमते नमः इद मर्घ्यं समर्पायामि

The one born out of the womb of Ańjana! Son of the Wind God! Hanumān! Accept the pure water offered by me. Oh! Leader of the Monkey Warriors! I bow to Thee.

वधार्थं रक्षसां जात हनुमान् भक्तिवत्सल
गृहाणार्घ्यं मया दत्तं कपिवर्य नमोस्तुते || 65
श्रीसुवर्चला समेत हनुमते नमः इद मर्घ्यं समर्पायामि

Oh! The one born to kill the demons! The one dear to the devotees! Hanumaān! Accept the pure water offered by me. Oh! Best amongst the Monkey Warriors! I bow to Thee.

जातः कपिकुलांभोधौ स्वर्णरंभा वनाश्रया
भक्तसंरक्षण स्वामिन् गृहाणार्घ्यं नमोस्तुते || 66
श्रीसुवर्चला समेत हनुमते नमः इद मर्घ्यं समर्पायामि

You are born in the ape clan. The one living in the golden banana grove! Protector of devotees! Accept the pure water offered by me. I bow to Thee.
