Hindu Dharma – Part 8

Those of other religions are prepared to lose anything for the sale of their religion. But our people ready to lose our religion for the sake of anything. For example, a Hindu youth if he loves a non-Hindu girl, would leave his Hindu religion for marrying her. He will say that he is sacrificing his religion for his love. If a Hindu girl loves a non-Hindu youth, that youth will not leave his reliigon. That Hindu girl only leaves her Hindu religion. This is the condition. In which ever way it is seen, inter-religious marriages are strengthening other religions only. So those people may encourage such marriages, but they fail to notice the way in which our children are going. If we develop earnestness in our dharma, such dangerous things would not happen. So it is very much necessary for their family set up that every father and mother should make their children enter and move in the path of dharma.

Not only that, we have to ensure that our children do not go far away from our religious dharmas right from their childhood. We should also keep an eye on them to know whether there is divine nature in them or demonic. Mainly they are to be protected to ensure that they do not get away from our dharma. By admitting them in the schools run by other religions, we are making them to go away from our religion. When they get into proximity to other religions, they begin to do things like removing tilak on their faces, refusing to pur namaskaram to our Gods, refusing to
come to our temples and doing the prayers of other religions. Even though they do not change outwardly due to the fear for their parents, they will undergo a lot of change in their minds.

They start thinking that the other religion is a great one, our religion is not worthwhile and all our customs and traditions are superstitious. Except having concern for the child’s education, we are not realising that as a consequence of this, he would become a problem to us in our own house by going against our religious values. The effect of influence of other religion on us starts there itself. By the time the child becomes youth, he thinks it as a great thing to deny our religious dharmas, praise the customs of other relgions and follow them. He gets into that bad condition automatically. unable to understand that we ourselves are responsible for such
a situation, we are getting into problems. when that youth grows futher, things like friendship and love will bring him to the stage of entering the other religions. When the situation goes out of our hands, even if we attempt to tell him about our dharma, he does not listen to us and not follow what we say. Is it that we do not have schools and convents which sustain Hindutva in us?

Why the Hindus are taking such dangerous decisions? Not knowing the impending dangers, they are getting deceived. So we should make them know. We should ensure that our traditions, prayers and our good practices are introduced in our schools. By this, a lot of good will accrue to us. For the purpose of propagating their religion, there is a practice of collecting church tax in some foreign countries. That is being used for propagating their religion in our country. Among the Hindus, there are several fabulously rich people. Don’t they co-operate for propagation of Hindu dharma? Why don’t they do service for patronising education which develops good religious culture and providing medicare for people? If they do like that, there would not be this miserable condition. The reason for their not coming forward like that, is their total lack of concern for the Hindu dharma. If we can sustain that earnestness in our society, all problems get solved. Let us do that effort in the required measure in that direction. Rich people of other relgions are contributing a lot of money for propagation of other religions. How good it would be if wealthy people among us also co-operate for propagation of our religion? Donors also do not come forward for propagation our dharma, just as they do for temple constructions, for the sake
of chiseling their names on slab stones to give publicity for themselves. If our dharma gets well-sustained, we can build hundreds of temples. If that dharma gets extinct, we cannot protect our temples leave alone building new ones. In Kashmir where our dharma is extinct, we are not able to protect our temples from tetting demolished, leave alone constructing new one ones. That is why protecting of dharma is the foremost important duty. That is why, I pray to you to make the best use of this book, to make your friends read this book completely and see that this book
is made best use of by all.

If we attempt to tell our people about his protection of dharma, we have to face peculiar problems from our own people only. Unless we understand this carefully, we cannot put our step forward. There would be great philosophers among ourselves. They feel lazy about doing a deed of dharma and its protection and they are also afraid that if others do such things, those people may get better name than themselves. So these so called philosophers do not do any good thing and
on the contrary, they spoil other good people from doing good things. They preach hollow philosophy saying “Oh! Are we the people, who can sustain this dharma? Is it really our work? Did not Krishna say in Bhagvadgita that whenever our dharma is harmed, he would incarnate on the earth and protect this dharma (“Yada yada hi dharmasya glanirbhagavti Bharata”)? If there is need, He will only incarnate himself and protect. It is not our work”. “Dharma samsthapanarthaya sambhavami yuge yuge”. As He said, dharma rakshana is his work. It would be sacrilegious and egoistic, if we attempt to do such a thing”. Thus they try to give explanation also. They prevent others from doing righteous things and start talking gossip about them. If they try to make use of even a few good words known to them, even for a bad purpose, what we have to say? Feeling lazy about going to a temple, some people try to prevent others also from going there by saying “Why to temple sir? Did not Prahlada say in Bhagavatam, not to have any doubt about the presence of God at all places without any exception? Had he not proved it also?” This is the dangerous trend of some others. Due to their skill in talking, we too feel that it is correct. There are called hollow philosophers and there is no use of giving reply to such people. Because if we sit with such people to give reply by cancelling our work, they feel sucessful in achieving their objective. It is not that there is no right reply for their argument. In Mahabharata, clear explanation is given about this. Nobody should keep quiet when wickedness and untruth grow to excessive proportions, and dharma and truth fall in danger, even though there is the God to protect them. Harm will come to those who leave the dharma unprotected. So whatever protection for dharma we can do, we have to do. It is not good for us not to protect, giving some excuses. Some of us do not do the good whatever they can and also cannot tolerate if others do it. This is mentality of our so called intellectuals while we are doing a lot of effort by bearing the expenditure, stress and strain, the people try to ctiticize, catching hold of some word in our dharma. Influence of such people should not be allowed to fall on us. (To be continued…)
